Great Devt Of Railway
This year, Xinjiang has invested 19.3 billion RMB in railway construction, a new record against last year's 13.8 billion RMB. The rapid development of railway has not only built up a new transport network in XJ, but also laid a sound foundation for the new round construction, opening up and development of the region.
The Jinghe-Ining-Horgas Railway opened to traffic two months ago. It plays a very important role in the transport peak this summer, and the seats of the trains are booked out everyday. Meanwhile, the cargo transport on the line also meet a peak. The grain produced in Ili has been transported to outside Xinjiang through the railway for the first time.

"We can't transport so much grain without the railway, for the cost of highway transport is very high."
Since the transport problem has been solved, other projects including Ili River Valley Logistics Center, and coal chemical industrial base with annual handling capacity of 500 million tons have also started construction.

"The opening of this railway makes Ili River Valley become a part of economic belt on the northern slope of Tianshan Mountains. Ili Prefecture, gathered with capital, talent, technology and industry, now has got priority in development. "
This year, 15 railway projects are under construction at the same time, including Multi-colored Bay to Jiangjunmiao Section along Urumqi-East Junggar Basin Railway, Kashgar-Hotan Railway and the second line of Turpan-Korla Railway. In June, the Ministry of Railways and Xinjiang signed a conference summary on quickening XJ's railway construction. In the next ten years, the railway will drive the development of more places of the region.
