44 Medical Teams TO Serve In Rural Areas
On the morning of June 26th, the mobilization meeting for counterpart support between XJ urban medical and health institutes to those rural areas was held in Urumqi.
Since the project on 10,000 doctors supporting rural medical and health was launched in XJ in 2005, it has got remarkable effect.This year, XJ will organize 44 medical teams to offer support in county-level people's hospitals or TCM and ethno-medicine organs in 44 prefectures and counties covered by this project. Among which, 27 are state level poverty-stricken counties.
From 2004 to 2007,by making use of the national debt construction project, XJ successively put 614.15 mln Yuan into the medical infrastructure construction and installation of basic medical equipments, greatly improving the conditions at grass-root medical and health organs in farming and herding areas.
